Welcome to the Bohermeen Athletic Club website.
All runners of any ability are very welcome to join Bohermeen AC with no obligation or expectations only to wear our colors and take part in friendly and well organized road races in Meath and other venues. Whether you are a juvenile or an adult the emphasis of our training is on fun and participation. 2012 training times are now available by following the link to the Senior/Master/Junior page on the left hand menu then the Training link. Meet and train sessions at 7.30pm on Monday evenings offer an unintimidating atmosphere for beginners to train in. No charge applies. Tuesday and Thursday evenings (currently 6pm at Hill of Tara and track respectively) may appeal to those looking for a tougher workout.

This years annual Patrick Bell memorial 5k run and walk takes place on
Saturday june 9th at 7-30pm and is open to all to run walk or jog and is
supporting the Centre for autism in St Michaels NS Trim. Stephen Ball,
Bohermeen AC Chairman, is asking for the people of the community to come
out and walk for this very special centre of learning for very special people right on our door step.

Meath T&F Championships, Claremont Stadium, 13th May 2012
In the Meath track championships at Claremont Stadium on Sunday in Navan, Darragh Rennicks retained the Meath metric mile title over 1500mts clocking
a very good time of 4-05mins a full 10 secs faster than his winning time of 12 months earlier.
Karen Dunne enjoyed gold star wins in the senior 100m, 400m, High Jump and Long Jump.
Other gold medal winners were Shane Fox under 18 Javelin, Alan Monahan under 14 1500mts, Jack Hilliard under 12 60mts, Kelly Brady under
16 Hammer & Javelin, Sarah Armstrong under 16 High Jump,Rose Finnegan under 15 1500mts, Molly Fitzgerald under 13 60mts.
The club had over 40 in action with 17 club members winning medals.
Kildare Half Marathon, 13th May 2012
Chris Curtis and Adrian McNally enjoyed good outings in the Run Kildare Half Marathon. Chris clocked 1:23:51 to finish 16th overall while Adrian finished 44th overall coming home in 1:28:41. Full results can be viewed at FULL RESULTS
Tri An Mhi Half Iron Man, Collinstown, 12th May 2012
Ramunas Meskauskas put in a tremendous effort in the Half Iron man Triathalon in Collinstown completing the gruelling course in a great time of just over 5 hours.
Simon Cumbers Memorial 6k, Navan, 11th May 2012
15 Bohermeen members participated in the event hosted by Navan AC with lots of good performances. Linda Gunning finished first in her category while David O'Connell and Jack McGowan finished 2nd in category. Below is a snippet of the fulls results which can be viewed at FULL RESULTS

Mullingar League Round 1 & 2, May 2012
Day 2 saw large numbers again and this time Derek Croal (17.11) and Dermot Farrelly (19.48) returned to Belvedere to improve on the previous weeks times. Also in action both rounds was former club runner John Gill who recorded 19.04.
With record numbers in attendance on day 1 Derek Croal and Dermot Clarke led the way for Bohermeen at Belvedere finishing in times of 17.25 and 17.40 respectively. Dermot Farrelly finishing in 20 min dead was another Bohermeen male athlete in action. In between Sonya Reilly finishing in 19.52 and coming after catriona O'Brien in 20.17 were the 4th and 5th female finishers on the night. For Full results see...FULL RESULTS
Summerhill/Drogheda/Kells/Belfast, 6th & 7th May 2012
The Bank Holiday weekend offered Bohermeen athletes a variety of events, locations and distances to compete over.
First up was Summmerhill which ran simultaneous 4k and 10k events on Sunday morning. David O'Connell (36.20), Damien Hilliard (38.22) and Linda Gunning (42.40) joined the 197 who participated in the 10k finishing 4th overall, 6th overall and 4th lady respectively.
Sunday afternoon saw a large crowd ascend on Drogheda for the Boyne 10k event with over 1500 entrants. Representing Bohermeen were Caoimhe Donaghue (47.34), Cora Bennett (53.31) and Donal Gavagan (53.30).
A large Bohermeen contingent made their way to Kells on Monday morning for the Royal 5k. In action were David O'Connell (17.46 & 7th overall), Jack McGowan (18.20 & 8th overall), Catriona O'Brien (20.14 & 2nd lady), Dermot Farrelly (20.16), Linda Gunning (21.13 & 4th lady), Marie Bowler (24.20), Emer Loughran (26.14), Linday Mackey (26.31), Maria O'Neil (31.04), and Maire Ferry (31.44).
Last but by no means least three Bohermeen athletes made the trip to Belfast to compete in the full marathon and all three put in great performances - Gerry Fitzsimons (3hr 17min), Chris Murray (3hr 27min) and Jackie Fitzsimons (3hr 41min).
